If you are interested in finding out more information about becoming a Tenant or Independent Board Director please get in touch.
The Board of Directors is made up of 10 members - a Chair, three tenants or leaseholders, three independents and three Council-nominees. Click on the links below to find out how we recruit to the Board of Directors:
Tenant Board Directors
Independent Board Directors
Council-nominated Board Directors
To recruit Tenant Board Directors, we go through the following stages:
Stage 1 - Information Session
Interested tenants are given the opportunity to meet the Executive Assistant/Governance Officer to find out more information about the duties, roles and responsibilities of a Board Director. If you wish to proceed, you will be given an application form and skills analysis to complete.
Stage 2 - Shortlisting
A panel of existing Board Directors and tenant representatives consider applications for suitability for interview.
Stage 3 - Interviews
The panel conduct informal interviews to allow them to meet candidates and assess their suitability for the role. Becoming a Board Director is a great responsibility which requires a substantial time commitment. The panel need to be satisfied that applicants have the skills and abilities needs and are fully aware of the responsibilities.
Please note: a number of checks are carried out on potential Board Directors. Some people may not be eligible to become a Director of a company or of Rykneld Homes.
Independent Board Directors bring their skills and expertise to help strategically manage the affairs of Rykneld Homes. Skills such as Housing Management, Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology and Community Development are invaluable to the company. Independent Board Directors cannot be North East Derbyshire District Councillors, tenants or leaseholders or employees of Rykneld Homes (either currently or within the last six months).
When we have a vacancy for an Independent Board Director, we advertise it on our website and in local press such as Derbyshire Times. An application pack is sent to all interested people and applicants go through a shortlisting and interview process. The successful applicant is appointed.
As Rykneld Homes' only shareholder, North East Derbyshire District Council nominates three people to sit on the Board of Directors. The Council nominated Directors stay on the Board until they step down or their term of office expires. The Council would nominate a replacement. No shortlisting or interviewing would take place by Rykneld Homes.
If you would like more information about any aspect of the Rykneld Homes Board of Directors, please contact the Executive Assistant/Governance Officer on 01246 217670 or email email@example.com.
