What if the Repair is not completed on time?
If the repair is not carried out by the Target Completion Date you can ask the Housing Office to appoint a second contractor to carry out the repair and be given a second Target Completion Date.
If the repair is not completed by the second Target Completion Date you may be able to claim £10 compensation, plus a further £2 for each day’s delay in completing the repair, up to a maximum of £50 total compensation.
Are there any exceptions to the Right to Repair Scheme?
Compensation cannot be sought for repairs
- Costing over £250
- For which we are not responsible
- Where you have told us you no longer want the repair carrying out
- Where you have not given details for access to the property, despite being requested to do so
Our response times either match or better the Right to Repair Scheme response times.
We will pay compensation in accordance with the provisions of the Right to Repair Scheme not only for the Qualifying Repairs shown in the table, but for any repair it classes as Emergency or Urgent.
