Parking within a front garden must only take place where there is an appropriate driveway or hardstanding for the vehicle. It is not acceptable to park on grass, soil or rough surfaces.
Any pavement crossing from the public highway into a garden must involve the kerb being lowered by the highway authority (which you will have to pay for).
Neither tenants or their visitors should park on grass verges or any other grassed or landscaped areas, or cause any obstruction to either the road or footpath.
Parking larger vehicles
Caravans, boats and trailers can only be parked in gardens where there is room and an appropriate surface, and must not be parked on the highway or on any off-street parking areas.
No lorry, public service vehicle or commercial vehicle should be parked anywhere in the locality.
Vehicle repairing
Vehicle repairing can sometimes cause a nuisance to other people, and oil spillages can damage the public highway. For these reasons vehicle repairing on the highway, parking areas or on any amenity land (grassed areas etc) is not permitted. Any vehicle repairing should therefore only take place on a driveway or hardstanding in your garden and then not on a regular basis.
Garages and Garage Plots
If you would like to apply for a garage or garage plot, please either contact your Neighbourhood Champion or call in at your local Area Housing Office or One Stop Shop.
