Good Neighbours – the winners!

Well done to the winners of our 2009 Good Neighbour Awards!

Choosing the winner was a tough task – two tenant representatives, Lorraine Dung, Secretary of the Federation of North East Derbyshire Tenants and Residents and Pam Harwood, Committee Member of the East Midlands Tenant Participation Forum and Danesmoor Tenant Group member judged all the entries.
They were extremely touched by all the fabulous stories tenants shared about good neighbours and loved the way in which it showed what a difference to someone’s life a good neighbour can be.

Our winners were praised for a variety of reasons including everything from being someone to talk to, taking people shopping, taking out wheelie bins or fetching shopping.

Su Gomer, Chief Executive at Rykneld Homes, said: “Thanks to everyone who put forward a Good Neighbour for this award. We wanted to celebrate the good things that happen in our communities and recognise those people who make a real effort to help others.

The winners were:

First Prize: Mr & Mrs Buckley from Stonebroom who received a large food hamper.
Second Prize: Mr Frank Bell from Grassmoor who received a medium hamper.
