Our Community Involvement Team have planted over 20 trees in Kenning Park, Clay Cross with the help of some of our Community Improvers!
We invited our Community Improvers to join us at Kenning Park in Clay Cross to help us plant the trees, in partnership with the local Parish council.
The trees that we planted included birch, hawthorn and oak, amongst others. This will provide a range of canopy heights which will help the trees to flourish and grow healthily. Working together we planted over 20 trees in total.
Following the tree planting we then undertook a litter pick in Kenning Park where our Community Improvers filled a number of black bags full of rubbish! We found and cleared aluminium cans, wrappers, packets, and bottles.
Jason Sadler, Community Involvement Officer said, “We have planted daffodil beds here at Kenning Park in the past, and now we’ve returned to continue our work to help the environment by planting these trees.
“In order to further help the environment and existing vegetation we decided to hold a litter pick as well, where we filled up a number of bags of rubbish. We were really pleased with the help provided by our young Community Improvers and they enjoyed it too.”
