Our Community Involvement Team had a great time showing the 'Monday Club' in Eckington how to play new age kurling.
The Monday Club is a fantastic group made up of committed volunteers who support adults with learning disabilities by putting on activities and events, every Monday evening at Eckington Youth Centre. Find out more by visiting their website: www.mondayclubonline.co.uk
We attended the Eckington Together event in September 2018 where we put on activities such as kurling and boccia for the community to get involved in. The Monday Club approached our Community Involvement Team at the event and asked if they would be able to pop along to the club and show them the game of kurling. Our Community Involvement Team were only too happy to help out!
Our Community Involvement Team went along to the club a few weeks later and took a kurling mat and stones to teach the club how to play. They all really enjoyed it and invited the team back in the future to teach them Boccia!
