Our Neighbourhood Improvement Budget has provided £500 worth of funding to Eckington Cricket Club to help furnish their new clubhouse building.
Eckington Cricket Club has been established since the 1950's but has recently built a new clubhouse using funding from other bodies and donations that they received towards it.
Eckington Cricket Club thanked Rykneld Homes for the funding, "We are grateful to Rykneld Homes for £500 donation to Eckington Cricket Club. A great organisation, supporting grass root, community groups."
The new clubhouse was built entirely by the groups members and they are very proud of their work. The clubhouse was built in time for the new cricket season and opened, however it needed furnishing.
Eckington Cricket Club approached Rykneld Homes and completed a Neighbourhood Improvement Budget application for £500 worth of funding to purchase tables and chairs to add the finishing touches to the clubhouse.
Eckington Cricket Club said, "We want the new clubhouse to be used by everyone and be at the heart of Eckington's community...but we need some seats and tables! Furnishings will allow the entire new clubhouse to be used for a variety of different purposes within the Eckington community."
As the clubhouse can be used by community groups and other sports clubs free of charge we felt it was a real community asset for Eckington and we were happy to award them £500 worth of funding. The clubhouse is also offered free of charge to community members as a place for meetings, parties and other events.
