We recently provided funding for a coach trip to 1st Tupton Scout Group to enable them to visit World War One graves of Tupton soldiers buried in France & Belgium.
David Parmley, scout leader said “I would like to say a huge thank you to yourself and Rykneld Homes for supporting our visit to the World War 1 grave sites. I have had good feedback from the attendees.
It was quite emotional in places, especially at the first cemetery, as many of those attending had never visited any WW1 cemeteries.
Plus at the last cemetery we had an elderly gentleman visiting his uncles grave for the first time. He was in possession of his uncles leather ID tag, his watch chain, and pouch that were taken off his body when he was killed, so that was very special (and tearful).”
