In 2012/13, we delivered £19.9 million of improvement works to Council properties, which included Regeneration works, capital works and Decent Homes works. Here are some of the improvements we carried out to Council homes throughout North East Derbyshire:
Kitchens
Between April 2013 and February 2014 we fitted 474 new kitchens to properties giving tenants modern facilities, more storage, better layout and an increased sense of pride in their homes.
Bathrooms
Between April 2013 and February 2014 we fitted 356 new bathrooms to properties.
Heating
Between April 2013 and February 2014 we carried out 420 heating system renewals. The Decent Homes Programme was revised to increase the number of planned heating replacements. The failed heating programme will always take priority over planned heating works.
Windows and Doors
Between April 2013 and February 2014 we fitted 1,181 new external doors.
Solar Panels
Ten tenants in Danesmoor had solar panels fitted to their homes as part of a long term energy saving project. Visit the Rykneld Energy Savers section to find out about the other work we are doing to save energy throughout North East Derbyshire.
Rewires
Between April 2013 and February 2014 we carried out 36 rewires to bring homes up to the latest electrical specifications.
