We would like to share an update on some recent works on the Heath estate.
A small memorial garden was originally developed over 10 years ago by Rykneld Homes Community Involvement Team due ongoing issues with illegal dumping, motorbike tracks and anti-social behaviour.
With members of the local community, we co-created a peaceful, green space where residents can reflect.
Last year, during an estate walkabout, a resident informed the Housing Manager for Heath that the memorial garden needed renovation - the wooden planters were rotten and some of the plants and shrubs were overgrown and in poor condition.
The Community Involvement Team developed a plan to revitalise the area, using funding from the Travis Perkins Legacy Funding Pot.
In April 2025, our contractor removed the existing planters and installed six new planters. The next phase of the project is to add plants and shrubs.
We would like the local community to get involved with the planting on Tuesday 10 June between 2.30pm and 5pm. Free refreshments and all the necessary tools and plants will be provided.
Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
