Progress

The Duke of Edinburgh sessions have been progressing well.

During the last fantastic session held at the Kenning Park Community Forest School, the young people made their own ‘damper’ bread, learnt to make rope from nettle stems and started to carve a wood ring.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award contains a physical element and as part of the project, we are encouraging participants to get walking. This can include walks around the community, walking to school or walking to a friends house.

During the next session on Thursday 11 July, the young people will be doing axe work as well as map reading.

The following session is on Wednesday 24 July at Linacre Reservoir.

There is a training Expedition takes place on Tuesday 6 August.

The young people have been outstanding and we are looking forward to the next sessions!
